About the group:

The Four Tops’ first Motown hit, “Baby I Need Your Loving” in 1964, made them stars and their sixties track record on the label is indispensable to any retrospective of the decade. Their songs, soulful and bittersweet, were across-the-board successes. “I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch),” a no. 1 R&B and Pop smash in 1965, is one of Motown’s longest-running chart toppers; it was quickly followed by a longtime favorite, “It’s The Same Old Song” (no. 2 R&B/no. 5 pop). Their commercial peak was highlighted by a romantic trilogy: the no. 1 “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” “Standing In The Shadows Of Love” (no. 2 R&B/no. 6 pop) and “Bernadette” (no. 3 R&B/no. 4 pop)—an extraordinary run of instant H-D-H classics. Other Tops hits from the decade included “Ask The Lonely,” “Shake Me, Wake Me (When It’s Over),” “Something About You,” “You Keep Running Away,” “7-Rooms Of Gloom” and their covers of “Walk Away Renee” and “If I Were A Carpenter.” The group was also extraordinarily popular in the U.K.

When Motown left Detroit in 1972 to move to Los Angeles, the steadfast Tops decided to stay at home, and with another label. They kept up a string of hits with ABC-Dunhill for the next few years: “Ain’t No Woman (Like The One I’ve Got),” a Top 5 hit; the Top 10 “Keeper Of The Castle”; and the R&B Top 10’s “Are You Man Enough (from the movie Shaft In Africa),” “Sweet Understanding Love,” “One Chain Don’t Make No Prison” (later covered by Santana), “Midnight Flower” and the disco perennial “Catfish.”

About the performers:

Legendary music icons, THREE DOG NIGHT, celebrating nearly 5 decades, claims some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than THREE DOG NIGHT.

THREE DOG NIGHT hits wind through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures --songs like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come)”, “Joy to the World”, “Black and White”, “Shambala” and “One” serve to heighten our emotions and crystallize THREE DOG NIGHT’s continuing popularity.

This Grammy-nominated band is not content resting on its legacy alone. Always working to expand its audience, THREE DOG NIGHT has embraced and been embraced by 21st century music technology. New and existing fans buy THREE DOG NIGHT’s music on iTunes as well as at record stores. In fact, releases from this decade alone have sold well over a million copies.

Recently, THREE DOG NIGHT began adding new songs to its arsenal by releasing its first double-A sided single in nearly 25 years. The blistering performance of "Heart Of Blues" and the timely, beautiful a-cappella ballad "Prayer of the Children” are available online at iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital retailers as well as through the official band website (www.threedognight.com).

THREE DOG NIGHT also pushed boundaries by recording with the London Symphony Orchestra, giving fans new and old a chance to experience its dynamic performances of the hits as well as several new songs. The project, recorded at the famous Abbey Road studios in London and released to coincide with the band’s 35th Anniversary, added exciting new orchestral arrangements to THREE DOG NIGHT’s signature sound.

THREE DOG NIGHT maintains an aggressive, year-round touring schedule of over 70 dates a year. The hit filled concerts are performed for generation-spanning audiences by Danny Hutton (founder/lead vocalist) and Michael Allsup (guitar), Paul Kingery (bass/vocals), Pat Bautz (drums), Howard Laravea (keyboards) and David Morgan (vocals). The band's now-famous name refers to native Australian hunters in the outback who huddled with their dogs for warmth on cold nights; the coldest being a “three dog night”.

Boasting chart and sales records that are virtually unmatched in popular music, THREE DOG NIGHT had 21 consecutive Top 40 hits, including 3 #1 singles, 11 Top 10’s, 18 straight Top 20’s, 7 million-selling singles and 12 straight RIAA Certified Gold LPs. The hits appeared on best selling charts in all genres (pop, rock and country). Its records continue to sell around the world, reaching beyond the borders of the U.S. into Japan, Canada, Holland, England, Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Tens of millions of THREE DOG NIGHT records have been sold through the years.

THREE DOG NIGHT recorded the music of the best (and mostly undiscovered) new song writers of that time including Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, Elton John, Laura Nyro, Paul Williams and Hoyt Axton among many others. The group’s eclectic taste, combined with its ability to recognize and record hits in a unique, distinctive and appealing style, resulted in THREE DOG NIGHT dominating the charts for years.

Now, marking nearly 50 years on the road, THREE DOG NIGHT continues to grow its fan base by keeping up a full schedule of concerts at theatres, performing arts centers, fairs, festivals, corporate events, and casinos. Since 1986, the band has performed over 2,200 shows including two Super Bowls.

About the Performer:

One might think that with finding success after 25 years of performing at county fairs and oddball venues, the moral of singer-comedian-celebrity impressionist Terry Fator's story might be the cliché of: Never give up on your dreams. But, when it comes to Fator's story of success after 40, that old adage doesn't quite ring true.

"I actually don't believe in not giving up," laughs Fator, 49, who was ranked No. 2 on Forbes' list of the top-earning comics just behind comic legend Jerry Seinfeld in 2013. "It's okay to give up because I did. I worked for 25 years playing every fair, small club and kids' party I could and it just felt like it wasn't going to happen. I resigned myself to just playing kids parties. That was okay for me. But, I didn't stop working and doing the thing that I love to do and getting better at it. Once I did that, something finally happened for me."

That "something" was NBC's hit competition show, "America's Got Talent." After turning down a chance to compete on the first season of the show, his fans wrote the show saying they just had to have Fator on. Producers called Fator and invited him to audition. After seeing, and liking, Season 1 of the show, Fator went for it, and in 2007 the then 42-year-old comedian became the "America's Got Talent" Season 2 champ, taking home the $1 million prize and title of "Best New Act in America."

"It was the big break I had worked for my entire life," he says.

It wasn't long before Sin City would recognize Fator as the headlining act he was destined to be. In 2007, he signed a $1.5 million deal to perform at the Las Vegas Hilton. The following year Fator signed what has been described as "one of the largest entertainment deals in Las Vegas history" to headline his own show, "Terry Fator: The VOICE of Entertainment," at The Mirage Hotel & Casino. In 2015, the show celebrated its sixth anniversary at the iconic Strip resort which followed a contract extension that finds Fator calling The Mirage home through 2016.

"I'm grateful that I didn't find success until my 40s," admits Fator, who hails from Dallas, Texas. "I'm not sure I could've handled success at a younger age. It can screw your brain up. Just look at a lot of today's young stars. But at 42, you have perspective and you're more grounded so that when the time comes that all of a sudden millions of people see and like what you do, it doesn't go to your head too much."

Fator's story began long before "America's Got Talent." His first taste of entertainment came at age eight when he tried his hand at magic with the help of a hypnosis book. "I unsuccessfully tried to hypnotize my friends, but then in fifth grade I found a book on ventriloquism and that came pretty quickly for me. I was always fascinated with all forms of entertainment, but especially magic and puppets. But other kids in school were doing magic, and I wanted to be original so ventriloquism became my thing," says Fator, who rounded out his creative endeavors by taking on the lead in many school and church plays as a kid, and later fronted the band Texas the Band from the late '80s through 2001. He was close to signing a record deal with Warner Bros. until they told him he had to take the ventriloquism out of his band performances. That was a deal-breaker for the entertainer.

As a young kid, Fator would practice talking without moving his lips in the privacy of his closet and while he was working odd jobs, hiding his rehearsals from his unsupportive father. At age 10, he bought a $20 puppet from Sears, but its head and eyes didn't move, making it hard to really get his act down. His mother took the puppet apart, gave him a whole new body and slapped a wig on his head – Fator was on his way to practicing with a real puppet that he named Josh. He soon graduated to a semi-professional puppet, which he used until age 18, and onto his first real professional puppet that he named Walter T. Airdale, a country singer, who is still a part of his act today. Little by little Walter was joined by an eclectic cast of characters, including Winston, the Impersonating Turtle; Emma Taylor, the selfie-taking tween with the big voice; Maynard Tompkins, the Elvis Impersonator; Duggie Scott Walker, the annoying neighbor and many others.

After decades of performing, Fator felt at the end of his creative rope. "It was just so discouraging because I felt I had something big to offer that millions would want to see, but I couldn’t find that break. Even five months before “America's Got Talent,” I did a show in 1,000-seat theater and only one person showed up. I was so down. I thought, 'Why am I doing this? It's never gonna happen. I'll never have millions of people that enjoy my gift.' But then I thought, 'Wait a second. I'm lucky that I get to do what I love and I do love this. So what if I always have to play for first graders or kids parties or county fairs? I'm still doing what I love and I'm not going to stop. It's better than going to work at a real job to just pay the bills,'" says the showbiz journeyman.

Today, Fator impersonates more voices than he can count with the help of more than a dozen characters singing everything from Nat King Cole, Garth Brooks, Roy Orbison, Dean Martin, Elvis, Louis Armstrong, Bruno Mars and many more.

Today, Fator finally has that audience of millions who enjoy his work through his sold-out and award-winning live show, multi-platinum selling DVDs (his debut DVD, "Terry Fator: Las Vegas" charted four times platinum), and numerous memorable television appearances. The industry has certified him a bona fide superstar, as well, with Simon Cowell declaring Fator to be "one of the best entertainers in the world" and The Best of Las Vegas Awards honoring "Terry Fator: The VOICE of Entertainment" with awards for Best Show, Best All-Around Performer, Best Impersonator and Best Overall Show.

"The best thing about all of this is that now my creativity is not shackled by my lack of finances. Now, if I have an idea I can actually do it and do it right," he says. In 2013, Fator released a country music album “It Starts Tonight” as well as a children’s book Lamu, The Christmas Kitten which is a story of the life of Jesus Christ as told through the eyes of his cat. In 2014, “Terry Fator: Live in Concert,” a DVD showcasing Fator’s 2013 Las Vegas show, was released nationwide and simultaneously an updated version of the Las Vegas stage show was launched.

What's next? "I just always want to entertain. That's it. I never had fans before and now that I do I just want to keep them smiling and laughing," he adds.

About the Performer:

Jerry Lee Lewis was born on September 29th, 1935, in Ferriday, Louisiana.  He began playing the piano at age 9, copying the styles of preachers and black musicians who traveled through the area.  Lewis eventually ended up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he found work as a studio musician for Sun Studios.  In 1956, he recorded his first single, a cover of Ray Price’s “Crazy Arms,” which did well locally.  Lewis also worked on some recording sessions with Carl Perkins. While working at Sun, he and Perkins jammed with Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.  This session by the “Million Dollar Quartet” was recorded at the time, but it was not released until much later.

In 1957, Lewis became a star with his unique piano-driven sound.  “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On” became a hit on the pop, country and R&B charts.  By this time, Lewis had also developed some of his famous stage antics, such as playing standing up and even lighting the occasional piano on fire.  He had such energy and enthusiasm in his performances that he earned the nickname “The Killer” for the way he knocked out his audiences.

Lewis was on a roll with his next single, “Great Balls of Fire,” proving to be another big hit in December 1957.  The following March, Lewis struck again with “Breathless,” which made it into the Top 10 of the pop charts.

Lewis was the first person inducted into the first class of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.

About the Comedians:

Barry Neal -

Barry’s beginnings were unusual. After graduating from Northwestern University and completing a successful run in the famous Mee-Ow show (who’s celebrity members have included Julia Louis Dreyfus, Dermot Mulroney, George Newborn, Craig Bierko, Seth Meyers, and Ana Gasteyer), his brother dared him to go onstage at an open mic to do a routine. Barry was a hit that night, and knew that stand-up comedy was his next mountain to climb.

Barry learned from the best comedians in the country. Jerry Seinfeld was a regular. He watched people like Bill Maher, Ellen Degeneres, Paul Reiser and Tim Allen just to name a few. Barry learned by not only watching these comics but by being a good listener when these comics would talk comedy.

Barry’s style is clean and high energy, and his relationship material was a hit in almost every market. He quickly moved up the comedy ladder and was on cable and network tv, including MTV, NBC, Comedy Central, and VH-1. Barry’s act was noticed by a production company that loved his Counselor of Love persona, and his act is currently being shopped as a sitcom called The Counselor of Love, that Barry wrote along with his partner Dan Patterson, who was creator and executive producer of Who’s Line Is It Anyway?

Debbie Praver -

Debbie Praver lives in Los Angeles but is always more at home in New York City, because in Manhattan people are ready to order when they get to the front of the line.

Her delightful impatience, combined with her charmingly sarcastic wit, made standup comedy her only career option. She was an invited guest performer at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival, has shared the stage with Kathy Griffin in Dennis Hensley's Screening Party and performs regularly at the Improv, the Comedy Store and the Friar's Club.

Debbie honed her writing skills with Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry and co-executive producers Joey Murphy and John Pardee. The refinement of her standup act happened as she studied with the fabulously talented, yet brutally hones Improv owner, Mark Lonow.

She has been published in Los Angeles' Atomica magazine, is a fill-in sidekick for Dennis Hensley on his Sirius Out Q radio show and makes appearances on paper in Dennis Hensley's Misadventures in the 213 and Del Shore's novel, Sordid Lives.

Praver spent too many years in Disney costumes including Minnie Mouse, Pinocchio, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey, the March Hare (who??? ... the hare is in Alice In Wonderland), and in a pinch she crouched down to do Donald Duck in a parade. Because she towers at 5' 1" it appeared that Donald had joined the Rockettes.

After escaping from the tragic kingdom, she toured as the dance leader for the media tour of the Broadway musical Footloose, choreographed many fitness videos including Jeff Costa's Cardio Strip Tease, Denise Austin's Pilates Matwork and George Foreman's Walk It Off With George and also choreographed the series, The Method Workout for Fit TV.

Debbie received her BA in Physical Education/Exercise Physiology from Cal State University at Long Beach and can be found teaching all sorts of fitness classes around Los Angeles.

Debbie's uniquely feminine slant on life has entertained and enthralled audiences here and around the globe. Want to laugh? The she's everyone's gal to do it!

About the Comedians:

Pete George -

If you could go back again, would you? Comedy through the eyes of a child - the innocence, the naiveté, the simplistic view of problem solving. Is there one of us who has not longed for those days gone by? That one would be Pete George - he never left.

In an industry constantly looking to the horizon for the newest star, Pete has been considered by many to be the next to shine. His unique style and viewpoint drawn from his life is showcased through an adult body with an adolescent outlook.

The son of a West Point Army Band member, the first solo accordionist in their history, Pete was the "butt" of any and all jokes that you remember from youth, ultimately winding up in the Learning Disability (LD) Program in his high school through the cruelest joke of all – misunderstanding. His creativity, imagination and boundless energy was misinterpreted as emotionally disturbed behavior and Pete found himself seated among his LD classmates – it was there that Pete began to unknowingly build an act that would entertain thousands in comedy clubs, colleges and on television and film across the country.

Refusing to make a choice, Pete decided to use his powers for both good and evil, being funny and entertaining one minute – just plain annoying the next. Finally recognized for his abilities, Pete received a scholarship for his musical talent.

After fifteen years in the making, Pete is loose on society to help us regain what we have lost – The magic of our childhood innocence. Combining the twisted, musical upbringing of a heavy metal polka accordionist and a bright child trapped in an eccentric environment, Pete has traveled the country. Described as a "sitcom" waiting to happen, Pete’s variety of comedy and music entertains crossover audiences, old and young, big and small, rich and poor, by appealing to the insecure child in all of us – the one always picked last for the team, the one made fun of for the sweater his mother made him wear, and the one … Encouraged nightly by those coming up after his show saying, "We can’t wait to see you on TV."

Jennifer Murphy

Jennifer Murphy has been doing stand up comedy for the last 4 years in Los Angeles after beginning her standup career in New York at a workshop with Colin Quinn. She has also studied improv and sketch comedy with Second City Training Center.

Since moving to L.A. she has performed on all the major club stages of the Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Store, and Laugh Factory, as well as nightly shows in smaller venues all across L.A. and the surrounding counties!

She has been seen in a national Febreeze ad, and in 2008 appeared as a contestant on Last Comic Standing on NBC. You may have also seen her on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen on ABC, or the half hour special This Is Why You’re Still Single on TLC.

About the Comedians:

David Nickerson:

David Nickerson first appeared on a comedy stage in Los Angeles in 1998 under the guise that he could, in the very least, be funnier than half the people performing that night.

The following week, David went on stage and proved to be correct. His goal was to remind the comedy fans of the raw and uninhibited views that made stand-up comedy a true art form in the days of Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy, and leading up to Sam Kinison.

Now David travels all over the world and is considered one of the top up and coming comedians touring today. David's material stems from the harsh truths of modern dating to mocking the beliefs of society that lead to delusion. David also tells the story of his childhood when his parents raised a child too smart for his own good. His most infamous bit is his impersonation of a malfunctioning Chuck E. Cheese robot that was described by All Comedy Radio as you can't describe it, you just have to see it.

David's credits include opening for Dave Attell during the Insomniac Tour and performing at the 2005 Montreal Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on Howard Radio and All Comedy Radio. In November of 2007, David was one of the finalists in HBO's Lucky 21 Nationwide Comedy Competition and performed at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival at Caesar's Palace. His long list of clubs he has performed at would be too time consuming to read, and thus a waste of time to type since most people don't really read this far into a bio.

Sally Mullins:

Sally Mullins appears twice a week at the Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. She has entertained the troops all over the world and is the host of online talk show Hello Cougar. Sally was named Funniest Comic in LA 2014 and runs her own show Get Live Monday on Hollywood Boulevard and has been seen on MTV and Playboy TV
