50's Dance Party

Nugget Casino Resort

Show Time: 8:00 p.m.

Tickets: $29 (plus tax and fees)

Description:

John Mueller’s 50’s Dance Party is the official live and authentic recreation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper’s final tour and the only show endorsed by the Holly, Valens and Richardson estates.  Each live concert performance includes unbridled, high voltage entertainment featuring all the hit songs of the 50’s era:  That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, and many, many more.

John Mueller, the critically acclaimed former star of the U.S. touring version of the London/Broadway hit musical “Buddy…the Buddy Holly Story,” performs as Buddy Holly and Linwood Sasser fills the legendary footsteps of the Big Bopper.  Ray Anthony performs as Ritchie Valens and is a renowned star of the “Legends of Rock and Roll” show at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas.  The very authentic and energetic four piece band (guitar, drums, standup bass and sax) includes Grammy award winning Mike Acosta on saxophone.

Show Time: 8:00 p.m.

Tickets: $25 (plus tax and fees)

Description:

This is a great opportunity for you to experience a one-of-a-kind, original musician at an affordable ticket price.

Seeing Otis Taylor in concert, it's best to expect the unexpected. Guitar Player magazine writes, "Otis Taylor is arguably the most relevant blues artist of our time." He fancies banjo and cello.  With his 2001 disc, White African, Taylor earned four W.C. Handy nominations and won the award for:
"Best New Artist Debut." Respect the Dead, released in 2002, made him a contender for two Handys in 2003: "Best Acoustic Artist" and "Contemporary Blues Album." He bent conventions again with Truth is Not Fiction, where he took a decidedly electric, almost psychedelic path forging a sound which he describes as "trance-blues." As if the brilliant songwriting and the haunting voice weren't enough to turn the heads of audiences and critics alike, Taylor has also proven his instrumental chops with two consecutive Blues Music Awards nominations (2005 and 2006) for Best Instrumentalist in the banjo category.

An Evening with Jelly Bread

An Evening with Jelly Bread

Nugget Casino Resort

Show Time: 8:00 p.m.

Tickets: $15 (plus tax and fees)

Description:

A Special CD Release Party

Music as a lifestyle has seen Jelly Bread rise from a Reno fan-favorite to a bonafide West Coast powerhouse in a matter of four short years.  Behind mainstays Dave Berry (vocals/guitar) and Cliff Porter (vocals/drums), Jelly Bread has fought through obstacles like line-up changes and grueling tour schedules to become the band they are today.

Due out of October 9th, the new album Here, There & Everywhere capitalizes on what the band does best by putting forth an amalgam of styles:  Soul, funk, rock and Americana.

The additions of guitarist Sean Lehe, bassist Jeremy Hunt, and keyboardist Eric Matlock since 2012’s Funk Ain’t Got No Dress Code have added a grittiness to the music that makes the Berry/Porter tunes even more infectious.  Swirling organs, down-home slide guitar, soulful vocals, and a raucous yet air-tight rhythm section help navigate Jelly Bread’s way through their slew of musical tastes.
