Description:

Martin Nievera, a singer, songwriter and actor, was born in the Philippines and grew up in Hawaii, listening to his balladeer father sing with the group A Society of Seven. Inspired by his father’s success, Nievera started down his own musical path, returning to the Philippines in 1982 to launch his own singing career.

In that same year, Nievera released his first LP, Martin…Take One, which quickly achieved platinum success. He then began co-hosting a variety TV show, ASAP ROCKS, with his future wife, Pops Fernandez. By 1984, he had released his second LP, Martin and Pops Twogether, in celebration of their marriage. When the marriage ended in 1998, Nievera wrote his ex-wife a song, “Forever,” which rose to quadruple platinum. Two sequel songs, “Forever Forever” and “Return to Forever,” have become best-sellers for this multi-talented artist.

Nievera’s TV career spans decades and he recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of his reality show. In 2012, he performed with mega-star Sharon Cuneta for a Valentine’s Day show billed as “Once in a Lifetime." Nievera is inspired and driven by the memory of his father’s success. He considers himself a work in progress, and it’s work that’s certainly paying off, with hits like “Be My Lady” and “Each Day with You.”
