Description:

Parmalee’s country rock sound has its roots in the bluegrass, traditional country, southern rock and blues covers the guys grew up hearing their families play.  Matt and Scott Thomas grew up near Greenville, NC watching their father Jerry from a popular local southern rock blues band.  The boys watched and learned, picking up their own instruments and jamming along with their dad’s band.  From this they learned how to integrate their own style into the songs they were playing.

Country fans voted the band’s debut single, “Musta Had a Good Time,” #1 for 4 consecutive weeks on SiriusXM’s The Highway “Hot 30 Live” countdown and the song became a top 40 hit on mainstream country radio.  Parmalee recently made history when its multi-week #1 smash “Carolina” became the longest climbing single by a duo or group in the 24-year history of the Billboard Country Airplay Chart.

Nugget Ballroom

Our high ceilings and a window wall make it the perfect venue for live music all year round.

Many of our shows include Dinner & Show Steppin' Out packages. For information, please call (800) 648-1177.

In the summer of 1970, around the time the Spinners’ Motown contract expired and almost a year after it was recorded, Stevie Wonder’s “It’s a Shame” became an international smash for the Spinners and gave the world a glimpse of a future supergroup.   The album The Spinners, released in 1973, was not only a bold statement of a new beginning for the group, it became one of the most important soul albums ever.  Boasting four top 10 hits, “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” “One of a Kind,” and “Ghetto Child,” the disc immediately moved the Spinners to the upper echelon of soul music and established the Philadelphia Sound as the definitive sound of the early 70s.  In 1979, an unlikely dance remake of the Four Seasons’ “Working My Way Back to You,”
