About REO Speedwagon:

Fronted by iconic vocalist Kevin Cronin since 1972, REO Speedwagon is a band where the main constant over the decades is a never-ending desire to give their all to their fans, year in and year out.

Formed loosely in the late ‘60s, REO (named after the precursor to the light truck) rode to gigs in station wagons, hopping from small gigs to even tinier gigs, just to get their name out.  It worked, as fans quickly realized there was much more going on here than your average college party band.

By the early ‘70s, the band’s unrelenting drive, as well as non-stop touring and recording, jump-started the burgeoning rock movement in the Midwest. It carved a path that was eventually followed by STYX, Kansas, Cheap Trick and more. Platinum albums and freeform FM radio staples such as “Ridin’ The Storm Out” followed, setting the stage for 1980’s explosive Hi Infidelity. REO rode the top of the charts with a RIAA-certified 22 million albums sold in the U.S. and 40 million around the globe, with a string of gold and platinum records and international hit singles.

Today, fully established with songs on the radio in every city and town they ever set foot in, REO Speedwagon still has that Midwest work ethic. The band has gone on stage and in the studio to work– dozens of albums, thousands of concerts, and countless radio spins. Their eyes have always been on the future and on the road – not a year has gone by where REO Speedwagon didn’t perform live, thrilling fans with hit filled sets.

About the Performer:

“Whether you’re making music or you’re making a movie, you do whatever you have to be great, and make it memorable,” says Ice Cube. “Whether it’s cassettes, wax, or digital downloads, VHS tapes, satellite TV or Netflix, people don’t care what format it’s in as long as the content is quality.”

Actor, writer, producer, director, rapper, father – reigning renaissance king could be a good term to describe the one and only Ice Cube. Coming of age in 1980s Los Angeles, Cube experienced the roiling stew of street knowledge, sports fanaticism, and social injustice in a city at the forefront of hip-hop's expansion from local sound to global phenomenon.

Twenty-seven years after N.W.A – the group Cube co-founded with Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella – released their archetypal gangsta rap masterpiece Straight Outta Compton (Ruthless/Priority, 1989), the group’s 2016 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, with an introductory speech by their spiritual heir Kendrick Lamar, is a mark of how far Cube has come.

If there’s an irony in this, it’s that the mean mug that originally made Cube so formidable as a rapper is the same face that often makes him so entertaining as an actor. “I perfected my scowl a long time ago,” says Cube. “I perfected it long before I ever thought of being in a movie. Although I admit that it does work great in the movies.”

The distance between, say, a brutal dis track like “No Vaseline” (from 1991’s Death Certificate) and a star turn alongside Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in 2014’s hit comedy 22 Jump Street might seem like a million miles. But with Cube’s range, it’s not far at all.

Music fans of a certain vintage will ride hard for Cube, perhaps placing premium preference on his unimpeachable first three solo albums, Amerikkka's Most Wanted (1990), Death Certificate (1991), and The Predator (1992). Their children may know Cube as the loveable patriarch from such popcorn-friendly fare as Are We There Yet? (2005), and as the voice of The Candle Maker in the Golden Globe-nominated animated feature The Book of Life (2014).

“I didn't put myself in the movie industry, it was John Singleton who discovered me at the right time,” Cube says of his film debut as Doughboy in the Singleton-directed 1991 hit Boyz n the Hood. “John brought me into this industry and got me looking towards Hollywood. Coming from making music, I understood that movies were a cool way to be creative on a whole other level.”

From that auspicious beginning, Cube has become one of the most bankable, likeable names in Hollywood as a writer, actor, and producer. His production company, Cube Vision, founded in 1995, has now passed two decades making memorable films. He has been part of films that have cumulatively grossed over $1 billion at the box office. The N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton took in box office receipts of over $200 million worldwide. In 2009, Cube received BET’s Hip-Hop Icon Award, and 2014 BET’s Honors Award For Excellence In Entertainment. Although Straight Outta Compton was snubbed by the Academy, it won NAACP Award for Outstanding Motion Picture and ABFF Film of the Year amongst numerous other accolades.

Cube’s successful film franchises include Friday, Are We There Yet?, Ride Along, and Barbershop. With Ride Along 2 and Barbershop: The Next Cut smashing the box office in the first half of 2016, these are enviable achievements in a Hollywood system increasingly geared towards sequels and franchises.

“I don’t want to give away all the herb and spices,” Cube says, “but one key to a successful sequel is to treat it like its own standalone movie, not like just a piece of a franchise. It's about creating a whole new movie, and not relying too heavily on what made the first one great. A person might not have seen the first one or the second one, and you don’t want them to be lost. That's what we’ve done with Friday, Ride Along, and Barbershop.”

Cube’s filmography is compelling. A scroll through IMDB reveals as much. But the 2015 film that brought together his incendiary hip-hop past and his current box office clout was something extra special.

On the song "Growin’ Up" from his 2006 album Laugh Now Cry Later (the most successful indie hip-hop release that year), Cube made peace with the late Eazy-E (“I like your son too/ He got his name from you”). As Cube explains, the rapprochement that set the stage for the movie Straight Outta Compton had already been made: “Making peace with Eazy was easy. I had done it while he was alive, so it wasn't a revelation to put it on a record. Throughout my whole career, I'll be thanking Eazy-E and Dr. Dre one way or another. With Straight Outta Compton the movie, a lot of things set the stage for that to become a reality. I directed the ESPN 30 for 30 film Straight Outta L.A., and then VH1 did a Behind The Music on me, and one on Dre, then a special came out called The World's Most Dangerous Group. N.W.A was nominated to The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago, while Dre was having enormous success with Beats, and all these things together put N.W.A back on the map in terms of popular consciousness. Everything happened at the right time to make people understand how interesting and special this group was, and this movie could be.”

Multiple generations of Ice Cube fans were now on the same page. Never had a history lesson felt so fresh.

“I don't want you to have to tell your kids who I am, or how cool I used to be,” says Cube. “It's there for them to know themselves. Straight Outta Compton helped the younger generation understand what we went through. For the older generation it gave them a better understanding of why we made that hardcore type of music. It was a love fest to go back in time and see the history preserved and properly retold.”

A significant generational twist is that the role of Ice Cube in Straight Outta Compton was played by Cube’s son, O’Shea Jackson, Jr. Cube is understandably proud of his son’s superb performance: “He was perfect for the job. The coach’s son always gets it the hardest, so he had to step up, and he did. I’ve encouraged my kids to get involved in the entertainment industry if it’s something they want to do. I have a nice foothold in the industry, I’m respected, I can get movies made, so it’s a beautiful thing for them to build on.”

Having sold over 10 million albums as a solo artist, Cube is now back working on his next album, Everythangs Corrupt. “I promise you it will be great. It’s not about where you are in the charts, it’s about where you are in the hearts. Bob Marley and Marvin Gaye didn’t top the charts with every record they released, but every record they released was a great record. My music is always satisfying to my fans, that’s the important thing.”

As far as satisfying himself, Ice Cube has a simple formula. “If you stay positive, you can stay creative, and you can be happy,” he says. “That’s my experience, and that’s my message to the world.”

About the Performer:

"Foxworthy is especially virtuosic in his physical comedy, his flights of fancy and lightning shifts of tone and mood, he blends all these elements effortlessly. He may define being redneck as possessing “a glorious lack of sophistication,” but the truth is that Foxworthy, for all his regular guy image, is a decidedly sophisticated artist.” Kevin Thomas, LA TIMES

Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. He is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee and best selling author of more than 26 books. In 2014, he was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. Widely known for his redneck jokes, his act goes well beyond that to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature, a style that has been compared to Mark Twain’s. Jeff and Larry the Cable Guy recently toured together on “Jeff and Larry’s Backyard BBQ.” They also filmed a comedy special, “We’ve BeenThinking” which is currently available on Netflix.

Jeff has his own comedy channel “Jeff and Larry’s Comedy Roundup” on SIRIUSXM. The channel is a partnership with SIRIUSXM and Larry The Cable Guy. It showcases the best in great American comedy. You’ll hear hilarious material from Jeff as well as comedy from some of his personal favorite comedians.

Description:

More than 27 years after Travis Tritt launched his music career, the Southern rock influenced artist continues to display strong sales activity, sell out shows, and stay true and relevant to country music fans across the globe.  Continuously performing shows and withholding a heavy appearance schedule, Tritt is proving to be unstoppable.

“Country Club,” “Help Me Hold On,” “I’m Gonna Be Somebody,” and “Drift Off to Dream” peaked at numbers two and three on the Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts; all which led for Tritt to win Top New Male Artist award from Billboard and the CMA Horizon Award (now known as the New Artist Award).  Additionally, in 1991, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) marked Tritt’s debut album Country Club as certified Platinum.

Two years after his debut, Travis’ sophomore album, It’s All About to Change, was released.  Literally speaking, this album changed everything when the album shipped three million copies and all four of its singles reached the top five on the country music charts.  Along with his first album, this release became triple-platinum certified by the RIAA.

As recently as 2015, Tritt topped the SoundScan Top 200 Catalog Country Albums chart for over 60 consecutive weeks with 15 weeks spent at No. 1 and 35+ weeks notched in a Top 5 position.  Tritt’s compilation album, Very Best of Travis Tritt, which was released in 2007, saw a resurgence of sales that started in Nov. 2014.  The 20-track album features some of Tritt’s biggest hits, including “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive,” “Here’s a Quarter,” and “Anymore.”

Larry co-starred in the Tyler Perry movie A Madea Christmas. He also hosted Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy on History for three seasons. The show premiered in 2011 and was a huge ratings success. In each episode, Larry visited various sites across the country revealing bits of real history while immersing himself in new and different lifestyles, jobs and hobbies that celebrate the American experience. Larry was also the star of the CMT animated show Bounty Hunters, which reunited him with Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall.

Larry is the voice of the beloved Mater in the Golden Globe winning animated feature film Cars (2006) and Cars 2 (2011) from Disney/Pixar. Both movies opened number one at the box office and combined have grossed more than 1 billion dollars worldwide. Larry has also starred in Tooth Fairy 2 (2012), Witless Protection (2008), Delta Farce (2007) and his first feature Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector (2006). The show was released on DVD and CD by Warner Bros/Jack Records, debuting at number one on the Billboard Comedy Charts. On July 4, 2009 at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE, Larry performed in front of more than 50,000 and taped his hour special Tailgate Party for Comedy Central. About the Performers:

Creedence Clearwater Revival founding members and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Stu Cook and Doug “Cosmo” Clifford have been on quite a ride.  Following their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Cosmo and Stu launched their Creedence Clearwater Revisited project in 1995 to once again perform live in concert the hit songs -- touchstones of a generation.  Since then, the legendary rhythm section has been thrilled by the outpouring of affection for their new band.   World tours and a platinum selling album Recollection followed.  The astounding response to the band has been driven in part by new generations of fans that, as Cosmo says, “weren’t even born when the music came out.”

While, as udiscovermusic.com recently commented, it is the “rhythm section Doug Clifford’s drums and Stu Cook’s bass that is a hallmark of Creedence Clearwater Revival,” the boys did not take assembling the rest of the new group’s players lightly.   “In the beginning Cosmo and I decided that if we could find the musicians that could capture the sound and recreate what the music was about, we’d do it,” recalls Stu.  As fans around the world can attest, Stu and Cosmo found the right players.  Lead guitarist Kurt Griffey brings crowds to their feet and the front of the stage with his solos.  He as recorded and toured with other notable musicians including members of the Eagles, Foreigner, the Moody Blues, Wings, Lynyrd Skynryd, Santana and Journey.  On lead vocal and rhythm guitar is Dan McGuinness.  The purity, power and range of Dan’s soaring voice hits right to the heart.  Multi‑instrumentalist Steve Gunner rounds out the group.  As Cosmo puts it, “Gun provides live all the overdubs that were on the records. - keyboard, acoustic guitar, percussion, harmonica and the high harmonies.”

In 2013, Classic Rock Revisited critic Jeb Wright wrote about a Creedence Clearwater Revisited concert he attended.  “The true test of any concert is how the music makes you feel.  On this night, this writer walked away with a wonderful feeling, having just witnessed timeless, historical music, performed to perfection. Creedence Clearwater Revisited not only looks to the past, performing iconic songs, they bring them to the modern day, reminding us all of the true importance of this music.”

Description:

Graham Russell & Russell Hitchcock met on May 12, 1975, the first day of rehearsals for "Jesus Christ Superstar" in Sydney, Australia; they became instant friends with their common love for The Beatles and, of course, singing.

They played small venues with just a guitar and two voices until CBS Records in Australia signed them from a demo cassette and they made a single in one afternoon that shot to number one on the national charts.

After signing with Arista Records in 1980, the duo scored a string of top five singles and the songs “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love,” “The One That You Love,” “Sweet Dreams” and “Making Love Out of Nothing At All” have achieved multi-million plays on the radio.

About the act:

Dan Finnerty caught America’s attention as the foul-mouthed wedding singer in the box-office smash Old School, performing his now-infamous rendition of “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” as well as his appearance as the sleazy bat-mitzvah singer in Starsky & Hutch and again as the inappropriate wedding singer in the record-breaking hit, The Hangover.

What started as a drunken joke for Finnerty singing “I Am Woman” at a karaoke bar has spiraled out of control into The Dan Band – a cult phenomenon that has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Rolling Stone, and Variety among others, and prompted Entertainment Weekly to dub it “the hottest ticket in Hollywood.”

The Dan Band plays to sold-out crowds from Los Angeles to New York and has appeared on numerous shows including The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen, The Late Late Show, Last Call with Carson Daly, Last Comic Standing, The Guys Choice Awards and caught the attention of Steven Spielberg, who signed on to executive produce Dan’s one hour concert special The Dan Band: I Am Woman, directed by McG.

Music over the last several decades has changed so often, one can't be sure what's "in" or "not in" at any moment.  David John and the Comstock Cowboys choose not to travel that crowded highway where music is destined to change at the whim of each generation.

They perform original music, written by David John, as well as powerful songs about America. In their unique style, they sing about cowboys, horses, soldiers, the Old West, and nature at its grandest.

Ring in the New Year at the Nugget with a fantastic dinner show in the Ballroom with live music from the Temptations December 31.

All around entertainment legends The Temptations stand as not only the greatest vocal group of Motown Records’ golden era empire; the quintet is indisputably the greatest singing group of all-time. Setting the bar in the standard bearing stratosphere for what a group should sing like, look like, dance like and artistically pilot the planet through triumphs and catastrophes like, The Temptations are world renowned ambassadors of soul, conscience and style. From 16 million selling LPs, 14 #1 R&B singles, three Grammys plus induction into the Grammy Hall of Fame, membership in The Vocal Group Hall of Fame, induction into The Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a TV miniseries classic and the most great vocalists to spring from one group – Detroit’s Temptin’ Temptations are still here, and still going strong. With 43 Top 10s clocked between the `60s and `90s, they were hailed as Billboard’s Top All-Time R&B/Hip Hop Artist in 2017. Among the most popular of their nearly 100 R&B charted songs are “My Girl,” “The Way You Do The Things You Do,” “Since I Lost My Baby,” “Get Ready”, “Ain’t Too Proud To Beg”, “I’m Gonna Make You Love Me” (with The Supremes), “Cloud Nine,” “Psychedelic Shack,” “Ball of Confusion,” “Papa Was A Rollin’ Stone,” “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me),” “Shakey Ground,” “Treat Her Like a Lady,” “Stay” and their near definitive rendition of the Christmas standard “Silent Night.” These and many others have been covered by artists across stylistic borders in blues (Al Green), rock (Rolling Stones and Anthrax), jazz (Grover Washington Jr. and Cassandra Wilson), pop (Hall & Oates and Bette Midler), reggae (Peter Tosh), country (Dolly Parton and Glen Campbell) and many others. As a group that is equal parts thrilling showmen and consummate singers, The Temptations have influenced several generations of singing groups from Blue Magic and The Dramatics to The Jacksons and The Sylvers to New Edition and *NSYNC.The Temptations were the result of the cream of two vocal groups merging into one, then morphing into a series of stellar lineups.

When Health Inspector was released on DVD in August, 2006 it sold more than 1 million copies in the first week of release.

In early 2012 Them Idiots Whirled Tour starring Larry, Jeff Foxworthy and Bill Engvall aired on CMT. The show was a thank you to his fans and Nebraska for their longtime support of him. Tickets were sold for only $4.00 and the show sold out in one weekend. The special aired on January 31, 2010 and the DVD was released on February 2, 2010. The comedy CD of the same name debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts.

On March 15, 2009, The Comedy Central Roast of Larry The Cable Guy aired and the show, which Larry executive produced, is one of the highest rated roasts in Comedy Central history, attracting 4.1 million viewers. Larry has also hosted and executive produced three Christmas specials for both VH1 and CMT. The variety style shows were all huge ratings successes for those networks.
